GCU Elementary Dance Tour 2025
The 2025 GCU Elementary Dance Tour students present “A Trip Around The World,” a live dance performance that offers K-6 audiences an opportunity to experience the dance cultures of our world. Audiences will be transported to each featured country through music and dance. This live performance aims to bring awareness of various cultures, geography and how bodies can move. Audiences will explore their own movement possibilities and are encouraged to be curious about other parts of the world.
Following the performance, students of the GCU Elementary Dance Tour will facilitate creative movement workshops appropriate for elementary students. The workshop encourages interaction, collaboration and community building. This class is accessible to all ages and abilities and will focus more on creative movement exploration. Creative movement facilitates cognitive benefits such as problem-solving, critical thinking, concentration, comprehension and composition. Students engage in a social capacity through cooperation and collaboration. Students can build a sense of self-confidence, connection to others and ultimately, a greater sense of the value of music and dance in our world.
