Welcome Week Crew
Be a Part of Welcome Week 2016 and Help Welcome New Lopes to the Herd!
Show your spirit and sense of service by joining the Welcome Week 2016 Crew! We need your help to welcome new students to GCU.
The Office of Student Engagement is inviting 800+ student volunteers to be part of the spirited Welcome Week Crew. As part of the Crew, you will:
- Move in early on Friday, Aug. 19
- Attend a Welcome Crew training seminar on Saturday, Aug. 20 (meals will be provided)
- Work three days during Welcome Week (breakfast and lunch provided these days)
- Unload luggage and boxes from cars and carry them into the halls
- Enjoy the awesome Welcome Week events with the new Lopes
- Receive a free GCU Welcome Week t-shirt and fanny pack
Want to do more to welcome new Lopes? You also have the opportunity to mentor a group of new students by becoming a Kickstart Leader. As a Kickstart Leader (or Kicker), you will:
- Participate as members of the Welcome Week Crew
- Attend a training seminar on Friday, Aug. 19 (meals will be provided)
- Mentor a small group (Kickstart Group) of new students for the first few weeks of the fall semester
- Help new students in Kickstart Groups adjust to Lope life by getting to know them, showing them around campus and meeting weekly to check in and answer questions
- Receive a free Kicker t-shirt and hat
